Building a pergola in Newtown: what we check
We look at these at the measure, so the price you get is the price of the job.
Heritage
Parts of Newtown are in a heritage conservation area, where a pergola can need approval that it wouldn't elsewhere. We check your address and tell you before you commit.
Approval
Many pergolas in NSW are exempt development when they meet the height, size and setback limits. We tell you at the measure whether yours does; if it doesn't, approval comes from the council for your street (Inner West Council or City of Sydney) or a registered certifier.
