Building in the Northern Beaches: what we check

Council: Northern Beaches Council
Bush fire: 33 of the 38 suburbs have land mapped as bush fire prone, the largest shares in Belrose, Allambie Heights and Davidson. On those blocks the bush fire attack level (BAL) decides which boards, timbers and roofing can be used, so we check your address before we quote.
Heritage: 12 of the 38 suburbs include a heritage conservation area, among them Allambie Heights, Avalon Beach and Beacon Hill. The rules for building a deck or pergola without approval are stricter there, so we check your address first.
The land: The ground runs from near sea level to about 200 m above sea level, with the Tasman Sea, South Creek and Manly Creek running through.
